Training Policies

Research tells us that parents and caregivers care for children differently based on their gender. Babies and young children intuit these differences and, again, research tells us they are aware of stereotypical gender expectations by the ages of 2-3yrs. By 4-5yrs gender stereotypes are often more rigid. For children who may not fit neatly into the gender binary, these stages of socialization can be confusing and challenging. In this training, participants will learn about the stages of gender socialization in young children, the four components of the gender spectrum, and explore their own feelings and experiences about the gender binary.
