About The Marketing Communications Hub

This hub supports all YWCA Metropolitan Chicago staff in navigating our marketing & communications processes.

Whether communications are your daily focus or one part of your role, you'll find what you need to amplify your work and share the impact of our mission.

Marketing and communications is not just about creating materials.

It’s about choosing the right approach to reach the right audience, at the right time, in the right way.

Our Communications Philosophy

Principle 1- Start with the Goal
We begin by understanding what the audience needs to know or do, enroll, attend, participate, support, or understand, before deciding how to communicate.

Principle 2- Choose the Right Tools
Static images can be helpful, but they don’t always explain, engage, or motivate action.

We often recommend a mix of formats to meet audiences where they are.

Principle 3- Design for Impact
Using data, experience, and context, we design communications that are more likely to be seen, understood, and acted on.

Sometimes that means more than one touchpoint.
