YWCA Metropolitan Chicago is a proud grantee of the Annie E. Casey Foundation. As a grantee, we are responsible for managing and leading KIDS COUNT data and policy analysis for the state of Illinois. The Annie E. Casey Foundation is a national foundation dedicated to developing a better future for children and young people by improving their educational, economic, social and health outcomes. As part of this work, the Annie E. Casey Foundation funds KIDS COUNT, a nationwide network of state-level grantees to track the well-being of children and families across the United States. KIDS COUNT provides timely and credible data through the Data Center and evidence-based policy analysis to spotlight pressing issues in national publications, such as the KIDS COUNT Data Book.

KIDS COUNT Data Center Overview
The KIDS COUNT Data Center provides high quality data analysis through a nonpartisan, evidence-based lens in order to enhance discussions on ways to improve outcomes for children and families at every level of government. It includes data on topics such as Demographics, Economic Well-Being, Education, Family and Community, Health, and Safety.
