STEAM and Youth Programming
The YWCA STEAM and Youth Programs seek to provide the participants with a broad exposure to various STEAM fields so that they gain a general understanding of the possibilities that STEAM offers them. These rigorous programs challenge the student’s abilities individually, while encouraging them to work within a team, in some exercises, to create a collaborative work environment that mimics the environments they may encounter as they enter the educational institutions and subsequently the professional environments.
New research shows that it is imperative to include the Arts in curriculums that were once focused exclusively on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to help transform the 21st-century economy.
