The Young Parents Program (YPP) promotes healthy attachment and positive relationship between teen parents and their children. The core components of the program are home visiting and peer group services. During the home visiting services, parents receive age appropriate activities to promote positive cognitive, emotional, physical, language and social development in their children. Group services aim to provide a peer support group for young parents to become knowledgeable about a variety of topics that affect them and their children through discussions and outreach activities. The Young Parents Program also offers other developmental opportunities for parents, including book clubs, volunteer hours, peer mentoring, college tours, etc.
