The Strong Families Program is a free program that supports families with children prenatal to three years old with the goal of giving families the best start for their children!
We serve families who live in the boundaries of District 21-Wheeling, District 59-Elk Grove Village, District 180-Willowbrook and an Early Head Start center-based program at Alpha and Omega Learning Center in Melrose Park.
Using the Parents as Teachers curriculum, our program includes four main components:
- Consistent personal home visits
- Group connections
- Linkage to resources and support
- Child and family screenings.
These components will increase parent knowledge of early childhood development, provide early detection of developmental concerns and health issues, increase children’s school readiness and success in school and ultimately support and empower the family as a whole.
