TechGYRLS is a youth empowerment program designed to raise girls’ interest & confidence in the critical areas of science, technology, engineering, arts & mathematics (STEAM). The TechGYRLS program will help girls, ages 9-14 in grades 4th – 8th, develop the usage of team building, technological tools, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to advance participants socially and academically to compete for jobs within a 21st Century workforce.
Girls ages 9 to 14
TechGYRLS Sessions will take place at the following YWCA locations and days:
Laura Parks and Mildred Francis Center (Woodlawn)
- Saturdays, beginning October 6, 2018, from 9:00am-12:00pm
Julian Grace Innovation and Technology Institute (Homan Square/North Lawndale)
- Monday/Wednesdays, beginning October 1, 2018, from 3:30pm-6:00pm
- Tuesdays/Thursdays, beginning October 2, 2018, from 3:30pm-6:00pm

WagiLabs 10-Week Incubator (10/6/18 – 12/15/18)
WagiLabs are incubators for kids’ ideas. They are all about play. And ideas. And most importantly, doing good to help people, animals, and the environment. Our labs are part laboratory, part “maker-space,” and all-around playgrounds for discovery. Sign-up here.
