This virtual Zoom training runs from January 25th to February 25th–Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays–to prep new volunteers that will be supporting our Medical District location. All training dates must be attended before volunteering can begin.
Our 24-hr Crisis Intervention Advocates provide in-person rape crisis intervention to survivors and answer calls for the YWCA’s 24/7 Rape Crisis Hotline. One-year commitment required. Volunteers work two 12-hr shifts per month on-call for Medical Advocacy and four 4-hr shifts per month on the Crisis Hotline.

YWCA Metropolitan Chicago is hosting a virtual 8-week psychoeducational group for teens who have experienced sexual violence. This group will provide an overview of some of the impacts of sexual abuse/assault using a mix of teaching, activities, and discussion/processing.
This group will be a safe, supportive space where you can join other survivors in:
- Defining trauma and its impacts
- Learning coping skills and strategies to help address and stop the cycle of trauma
- Finding connection and support
The group is open to teen survivors of sexual trauma (ages 13-17). If you are interested in attending, contact Isabel Almanza at the phone number or email above. All interested individuals must complete an intake to determine group readiness.

- Exploring the impacts of sexual trauma
- Learning coping skills and self-care
The group is open to adult survivors of both childhood and adult sexual abuse; and any gender or sexual orientation. If you are interested in attending, contact Felipa Roman at the phone number above. All interested individuals must complete an intake to determine group readiness.
