Planned Giving
Legacy Giving is a powerful way to make a difference in the lives of others. At YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, we work hard to make your contribution count by supporting women across our city in areas of business and entrepreneurship, racial justice, sexual violence and family care. Together, we’ll continue to provide tools and opportunities that empower these women to strengthen their communities and create their own legacies.

Your gift comes to life through programs that provide onsite job training, inspire new generations of female scientists, offer counseling for sexual assault victims and ultimately create better outcomes for women across our city. How to Contribute
Help ensure YWCA Metropolitan Chicago’s 145-year legacy of empowering women continues by giving a gift of securities, a gift of memory or honor, or by naming YWCA Metropolitan Chicago in your will. This thoughtful contribution will help to preserve our existing programs and expand our work to support future generations. It’s a simple way to make a sizeable impact.
Bequests (or gifts through a donor’s will) are the most common type of planned charitable gift received by YWCA Metropolitan Chicago. Typically, a donor sets aside a certain dollar amount or percentage of their estate, or a specific asset to benefit the YWCA. The donor’s estate will receive a charitable tax deduction upon his or her death when the gift is made to charity. Bequests help the YWCA launch and also support important community programs, and prepare the organization for future growth.

YWCA is on a continued mission to empower women and families! We believe that women can thrive when they are free from violence, have access to quality education and training and economic opportunities. YWCA assists people on this journey by providing them tools through the services we offer.
Our work plays an instrumental role in the advancement of women in today’s marketplace and we cannot do it alone. Immediate volunteer needs are highlighted below.

Medical & Legal Advocate
Provide 24-hour advocacy in emergency rooms and provide comfort throughout evidence collection.

Rape Crisis Hotline Volunteer
Volunteer to answer calls. Counsel victims and provide resources to assist them in recovery.

Volunteer Prevention Educator
Are you passionate about empowering children? Do you believe that all children have the right to be free from abuse? Are you a great listener?

Members are key local influencers who volunteer to fundraise and support the work of the YWCA.

Stock Giving
A gift of appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds is an excellent way to support YWCA Metropolitan Chicago. Your donation will still be eligible for a tax deduction, and it may allow you to avoid or reduce capital gains taxes. 37.5 hour work week
PTO (85 hours of PTO for first year; 123 hours of PTO from 1st-3rd anniversary; 175 hours of PTO after 3rd anniversary)

Individual medical, dental and vision coverage is available for employees who regularly are scheduled to work at least thirty (30) hours per week. Coverage shall be effective on the first day of the month following the completion of thirty (30) days of employment. There may be a cost to the employee for the insurance benefits coverage. The employee can purchase medical, dental and vision benefits coverage for the employee’s family. For employees selecting such coverage, YWCA Metropolitan Chicago generally pays a portion of the total premium.

Benefit that pays up to 60% of pre-disability earnings to maximum of $1,000 per week for a defined period of time if you become ill or suffer an injured that prevents you from working.

Benefit that pays 60% of pre-disability earnings to a maximum of $5,000 per month for a defined period of time if you became ill or suffer any injured that prevents you from returning to work for an extended period of time.

Equal to 1x your basis annual salary rounded to the next higher $1,000 provided for all regular full-time employees. Please contact Human Resources regarding the most current information/summary plan descriptions available.
